Tree well safety
Few skiers and boarders are aware of the potential dangers of tree wells. It's quite simply a horrible way to die. Read the information on this informative site and reduce the risks of falling into one yourself. Report 1 of the Council on Scientific Affairs (I-97) of the American Medical Association on ski helmets
Entitled "Helmets for Recreational Skiing and Other Winter Sports in Children and Adolescents", this is a far more objective assessment of helmets on the slopes than the CSPC study below

CSPC study on helmet use in snowsports
The controversial study published in 1997 with a link to a PDF format. Although on the face of it, this document reads convincingly, it has in fact been discredited by most leading snow sports safety experts. More about why on the helmet page.
